Wizards and Mages raise their voice for nature during Earth Hour 2020
True to their advocacy, Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL) promoted sustainability by joining the worldwide Earth Hour last March 28, 2020. For a whole hour (from 8:30-9:30 PM), the MCL community switched off their lights and non-essential devices in support for the World Wide Fund for Nature’s (WWF) annual campaign.
The MCL community, with representatives from its college and Senior High School (SHS) student councils and student organizations, including MCL-PICE (MCL-Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers), Uplift, Sinaglaya.kom, CLICC (Creative Learners and Innovative Content Creators), and Malayan Kalikasan, pledged to raise their voices to continue moving forward in fulfilling the mission of contributing solutions to the climate crisis and protecting the environment.
Through this digital event, the MCL community acknowledges their part in preserving and conserving the planet’s natural resources. This shows their serious commitment to this cause especially during the current health crisis.
Through the video conferencing app, Zoom, 34 student representatives from the 5 colleges raised their voice for nature via a Facebook Live during the MCL Earth Hour Event preceding the Earth Hour.
